Heavy Metal: Using Metallics In Your Home

A little flash of metal adds luxury and excitement to a space. There are currently so many gorgeous metallic pieces available, with a variety of metals to choose from including copper, rose gold, gold foils and silver. Don’t be afraid to mix and match! Metal or a metallic look is an option for back splash and even pillows!

I love to add metal accents using shiny chrome and burnished gold, or brass with stainless, even galvanized steel with shiny brass. It makes for a more interesting and relaxed look — something a homeowner may do her/himself.

Some of my favorite metal baubles are here:metals

Wall Vessel //  Guard Vase // Ceramic Vase // Galvanized Lantern //

Muse D’Argent Candle //  Spiked Table Lamp //  Shiny Urchins //

Galvanized Spheres // Gold Vase // Mercury Glass Lamp// Antelope Figurines //

Talitha Side Table //  Hourglass Side Table // Brass End Table //

I spend many hours thinking about each item and how to make each room feel natural and less staged. I am very conscious of over-designed, over-propped, and overly perfect rooms. In my world, the more subtle the better. It keeps each space feeling quiet, calm and relaxed. That’s how I love to feel so I try to bring that to everything I do.

Mirrored furniture provides an old Hollywood glam style and takes us back to the Art Deco era. I often use metallic wallpaper, like the one below.
